The College of Aviation at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona invites applications for a non-tenure track position in Applied Aviation Sciences Department starting in August 2026 at the Assistant/Associate Professor level in the field of air traffic management. The department is interested in candidates serving as the primary instructor who can teach lecture courses focused on air traffic control procedures and techniques based on current standards and demands of the national airspace. Faculty candidates should be able to teach air traffic basics courses in a way that is coherent and understanding to students with little-to-no previous aviation knowledge. As part of their appointment, the selected candidate will mentor students. Applicants should be able to demonstrate ability to teach and develop classroom and laboratory courses across all levels of undergraduate education in basics of understanding, and advanced skillsets in the industry. Successful faculty candidates will have a strong commitment to undergraduate education both in the classroom and through experiential learning opportunities. The department has a strong focus on hands-on educational methods and emphasizes practical skills students will need after graduation. The Department of Applied Aviation Science offers three programs created specifically to meet the growing demands for trained aviation industry professionals. Bachelor of Science degrees within the Department of Applied Aviation Sciences include Applied Meteorology, Air Traffic Management, and Uncrewed Aircraft Systems, in addition to an Associate of Science in Air Traffic Management. Minors include Air Traffic Management, Applied Meteorology, Uncrewed Aircraft Systems, and Geographic Information Systems.
