About The Position

The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the division head in furtherance of the university's missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and advocacy. This faculty position will provide clinical care primarily at OHSU's Doernbecher Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with additional coverage at any of our OHSU affiliated or partner hospitals: PeaceHealth in Vancouver, Washington, OHSU Hillsboro and Adventist Health.

Requirements

  • Appointee must be board eligible or board certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine and Pediatrics.
  • Must be eligible for, or currently have an unrestricted Washington and Oregon Medical Licenses.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical care primarily at OHSU's Doernbecher Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with additional coverage at any of our OHSU affiliated or partner hospitals: PeaceHealth in Vancouver, Washington, OHSU Hillsboro and Adventist Health.
  • Participate in faculty meetings at the division and department level.
  • Aid the division head and department chair in providing direction to the division and the department both on a day to day basis and as part of ongoing strategic planning and strategic planning.
  • Have some scholarly activity, this may be limited to educating learners as outlined below, but may also include research, and other grant supported work or academic papers and presentations in disciplines related to their field of expertise.
  • Partner with other providers and members of the department or division research support staff in research activity.
  • Participate in clinical research as needed, often with the help of trained research support staff and senior faculty principal investigators.
  • Provide clinical education to fellows, residents, and medical students participating in pediatric rotations.
  • Provide feedback and evaluation, both formally and informally, of learners working in neonatology.
  • Provide education and feedback to fellowship trainees in the Neonatology Fellowship Program.
  • Provide feedback and guidance in the continuing development and improvement of the Neonatology Fellowship program.
  • Serve on OHSU committees and in other activities as directed by the department chair or division head in furtherance of division, department, or OHSU goals and objectives.
