This is a nine-month appointment. The anticipated start date is August 2026. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications. Lamar University and faculty in the Department of Curriculum & Instruction seek a qualified, tenure-track faculty member to teach, mentor, and advise students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. This position requires the candidate to provide engaging and effective instruction in face-to-face, hybrid, and virtual learning environments. The primary focus of the instruction will require expertise in emergent literacy. However, this position may be required to teach an occasional course across the education department (Intro to Education, Human Development and Learning, etc.) Candidates should be committed to collegiality and continuous improvement based upon qualitative and quantitative data. Along with teaching, a faculty member selected for this position will be expected to have a record, or an emerging record, of scholarship in the primary content area. Tenure-track faculty will be expected to present at conferences in their field, publish findings from their research, and seek external funding. Additionally, faculty are asked to engage in service to the department, college, and university.
