About The Position

The Department of Computer Science is seeking applicants to fill one open-rank tenured/tenure-track position beginning August 1, 2026. Tennessee Tech is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.

Requirements

An earned Ph.D. from an accredited institution in computer science or a closely related field by the start date of employment
expertise in high-performance computing with secondary interest in artificial intelligence
potential to develop and conduct externally funded research
engagement in scholarly activities as demonstrated by peer-reviewed journal and conference publications
an ability and desire to strive for teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels
effective communication and interpersonal skills

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in computer science or a related field
relevant teaching experience
established research program including experience in proposal writing
industrial experience.

Responsibilities

teach undergraduate and graduate courses in computer science
engage in scholarly activities
develop externally funded research programs
direct the research of students at the B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. levels
serve on committees at the department, college, and university levels
engage in professional and public service
advise students on professionalism and career opportunities
