About The Position

The Department of Industrial, Manufacturing, and Systems Engineering ( IMSE ) at The University of Texas at Arlington invites applications for two tenure/tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant/Associate Professor/Full Professor levels. Both candidates will be expected to teach courses in engineering management, but their research portfolios may more broadly include engineering management, systems engineering, and/or operations research. Ideal candidates will also possess a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education and the ability to secure and execute externally funded research.

Requirements

• A Ph. D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering or a closely related field.
• Evidence of the ability to teach and develop courses in engineering management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Evidence of leading and developing diverse teams to solve complex engineering problems.

Nice To Haves

• Experience conducting research in engineering management, systems engineering, and/or operations research.
• Professional experience in engineering management, systems engineering, and/or operations research.
• Experience developing courses in engineering management.
• Ability to build successful relationships with industry.

Responsibilities

• Develop and teach courses to prepare the workforce for careers in engineering management.
• Lead research projects in engineering management, systems engineering, and/or operations research with researchers at UT Arlington, the Dallas/Fort Worth region, and across the country.
• Establish and maintain a research program through externally funded programs.
• Assist in directing UT Arlington’s vision in engineering management, systems engineering, and/or operations research.
