About The Position

Mississippi State University's School of Nursing invites applications for a tenure-track nurse faculty position in a competency-based, accelerated, masters' entry program of nursing. Faculty hired will be expected to work synergistically with other MSU faculty, community leaders, and clinical constituents to implement innovative graduate nursing education pathways to strengthen a practice-ready nursing workforce. The primary responsibility will be scholarship of teaching.

Requirements

  • An earned doctoral degree in nursing (or related field) with formal education in teaching/learning principles for adults are required.
  • Highly qualified faculty candidates will have a record of impactful teaching, scholarship, and practice.
  • Exceptional candidates with doctoral degrees in nursing in progress may be considered.
  • Level of appointment is contingent upon education and experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize work load, competing demands and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and discipline.
  • Strong verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively work in a fast-paced environment with multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to foster a willingness to continuously learn and grow professionally to excel at one's highest capacity.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred candidates will hold a PhD and current certification as an advanced practice registered nurse with academic preparation and clinical experience in a variety of nursing settings.
  • Experience with accelerated models of nursing education is ideal.
  • Candidates with significant contributions to caring for rural populations are desired.
