The Position: Our Assistant Administrators supports the day-to-day operations of a skilled nursing facility (SNF), ensuring high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and staff engagement. This role acts as a key operational leader, assisting the Administrator in maintaining an environment aligned with the facility’s mission, values, and commitment to aloha-centered care.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, health administration or related field
  • Must have, as a minimum, two years’ experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital or nursing facility.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of nursing facility operational standards and requirements of participation
  • Eligibility to meet the licensure requirements of State of Hawaii for Nursing Home Administrator
  • Completion of Administrator-in-training program, or 1 year administrative experience in a health related area
  • Possess time management, critical thinking, analytical and creative systems thinking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee compliance with regulatory guidance and work with department supervisors and Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI Committee to identify areas of deficient practice(s) and establish a performance improvement plan).
  • Manage the day-to-day operations and act on behalf of the Administrator in his/her absence.
  • Assist the Administrator in recruiting, interviewing, screening and onboarding new staff in key positions.
  • Assist the Infection Preventionist and/or committee in identifying, evaluating and classifying routine and job-related functions to ensure that tasks involving potential exposure to blood/body fluids are properly identified and recorded
