About The Position

The Assistant Administrator serves as a member of the hospital's senior management team and participates in operational decision-making processes to support the organization's mission and goals. This role oversees assigned ancillary departments, assists with organizational initiatives, and develops competency in hospital operations as part of a leadership development pathway. The Assistant Administrator contributes to patient care quality, physician and employee engagement, financial stewardship, and overall hospital performance while preparing for progressive leadership responsibilities.  The position serves as part of the leadership development program and will require future relocation to prepare for advancement within the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field required 
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Healthcare Administration (MHA), or related field required
  • 3-5 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience, overseeing hospital operations departments.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and manage cross-functional relationships.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively with others, delegate responsibilities, and independently manage tasks while meeting established deadlines.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • In depth knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory compliance (if applicable).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Google and Microsoft platforms, healthcare software systems, and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees assigned hospital departments, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and standards of performance.
  • Participates in operational decision-making processes, reviews, and performance improvement activities.
  • Assists with organizational initiatives that improve patient satisfaction, physician engagement, and employee experience.
  • Monitors departmental performance and prepares reports to support data-driven decision making.
  • Supports the development, review, and approval of vendor and provider contracts in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Collaborates with financial and nursing leaders to identify opportunities to reduce non-value costs while maintaining quality of care.
  • Assists in the planning, promotion, and implementation of quality and service improvement projects.
  • Develops knowledge of hospital operations, including internal processes and the organization’s role in the community.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
