About The Position

Charleston Grounds Management is a growing commercial landscape management company serving HOA and commercial properties throughout the Charleston area. Our services include landscape maintenance, enhancements, irrigation, chemical, and aquatic services. We are seeking a motivated Assistant Account Manager to support our Account Managers in managing client relationships, maintaining property quality, and coordinating with field teams. This role is designed for someone who wants to grow within the commercial landscape industry and eventually move into a full Account Manager position. The Assistant Account Manager works closely with our Account Managers to ensure properties are maintained to company standards while supporting clear and consistent communication with clients. This role is designed to provide exposure to multiple areas of the business, allowing the individual to develop the skills and knowledge needed to advance into a full Account Manager position. The ideal candidate will have experience in production leadership, irrigation, or chemical application. A strong willingness to learn, take initiative, and grow within the company while putting in the effort required to succeed is essential. This is a field-based, hands-on role designed to provide practical experience across multiple areas of the business. During the training period, the Assistant Account Manager will actively work alongside different teams and take part in a variety of job tasks to gain a full understanding of our operations. The position follows a structured training plan that takes place over several months. Throughout this time, the individual will rotate through different divisions of the company—spending several weeks at a time in each area—to develop the knowledge and skills required to support properties and clients effectively. Success in this role requires flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to handle the changing priorities and pressures that come with managing commercial landscape operations. Candidates must be willing to learn, adjust as needed, and take on new responsibilities as they progress through the training program.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years experience in landscaping, property management, or related field preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple properties and tasks
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of landscape maintenance practices is a plus
  • Experience with CRM or property management software (Aspire preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Account Manager with managing assigned commercial properties
  • Participate in routine property walks and site inspections
  • Help identify landscape issues and recommend solutions
  • Support client communication and respond to service requests
  • Work with the Irrigation team to learn troubleshooting, basic adjustments and the ability to price and sell irrigation work
  • Work with the Plant Healthcare/Aquatics team to be able to identify issues and create proposals for clients to treat turf/shrub and aquatic issues
  • Work with Foremen and crew members to ensure services are completed properly and within company quality standards
  • Assist with scheduling, property documentation, and service follow-up
  • Help track labor, materials, and job progress
  • Identify potential landscape enhancements during property walks
  • Work with the Enhancement Team to perform basic installation projects to be able to effectively schedule and price jobs
  • Assist with preparing enhancement proposals and service recommendations
  • Support contract renewals and proposal follow-up
  • Utilize Aspire landscape management software to track properties, notes, tasks, and estimates
  • Document property issues, client communication, and site audits
  • Maintain organized records and communication within company systems
