About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: Contacts delinquent customers in their assigned region. Provides general back-up to the employees of the Asset Recovery Department OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE: Utilize sales training skills to provide outstanding customer service. Contact and counsel delinquent customers to work out a repayment plan suitable for the customer and the Bank and collect updated customer information. Make in person contact, with an additional bank employee, to try to establish acceptable payment arrangements. RESPONSIBILITIES: Import and collect on credit card past dues. Collect on Overdraft Protection Loans. Repossess collateral as needed and complete all required correspondence. Prepare, follow-up and maintain life and disability claims. Monitor loans of deceased borrowers to protect the Bank’s interest. Maintain and inspect OREO and foreclosure properties and show to interested buyers. Perform required FMAC inspections as needed. Respond to credit bureau disputes and maintain documentation. File and maintain department records. Prepare a monthly regional delinquency report. Image and maintain department records. Comply and satisfactorily pass tests for bank policy and regulations that apply to position. Balance the Asset Recovery Checking account monthly. Process returned checks for loan payments. Prepare files to be sent to the attorney for foreclosure, repossession, bankruptcy and other legal matters. Identify deceased customers and work through the process of updating our core system and work with attorneys to protect the Bank’s interest. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and at least two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experienced in supervision. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), including accurate completion of Currency Transaction Reports (CTR) when applicable, Anti-Money Laundering Act (AML), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) and the USA PATRIOT Act. Adhere to Customer Identification, Customer Due Diligence and reporting of suspicious activities to the BSA Department. NON-EXEMPT/HOURLY COMPETENCIES: Job Knowledge: Understands duties and responsibilities, possesses necessary job knowledge and technical skills, maintains job knowledge current. Productivity: Manages a fair workload, volunteers for additional work, prioritizes tasks, develops good work procedures, manages time well, and handles information flow. Attendance: Employee is expected to adhere to the attendance and break policy and communicate with your supervisor about anticipated time off or modifications to break times.
