The Asset Protection (AP) team's primary function is to ensure the safety of customers, employees, and brands. AP collaborates with the store Emergency Response Team (ERT) to prepare for, respond to, and recover from various emergencies. Additionally, AP is responsible for protecting company profits by mitigating shrinkage risks, and by preventing, investigating, and resolving theft to ensure merchandise availability. The strategies of Asset Protection are guided by three pillars: protecting people through employee and customer safety support, protecting physical spaces including buildings and merchandise, and supporting product accuracy by partnering with the store to improve inventory accuracy and reduce shrinkage.
