About The Position

J.P. Morgan Global Alternatives is the alternative investment arm of J.P. Morgan Asset & Wealth Management. With $400 billion in assets under management and 450+ investment professionals, we offer strategies across the alternative investment spectrum, including real estate, private equity and credit, infrastructure, transportation, timber, liquid alternatives and hedge funds. (as of Sept. 2024) A vacancy has arisen for an Investor Relations Associate within the Global Transportation Group. An Investor Relations Associate plays a leading role in supporting the client relations, strategy and portfolio management efforts of the firm’s Global Transportation investment platform. This position will support the business’ investment strategies and work closely with both the investment specialist team and portfolio management teams as it relates to the management and marketing of all fund related activities. Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical, financial, time management and organizational skills, attention to detail as well as interest in transportation investments (maritime, energy logistics, aviation, railcar, container leasing, vehicle fleets, etc.) are a must.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience with financial analysis and client services.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated and strong work ethic.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment across multiple time zones
  • Strong multi-tasking, time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Undergraduate/graduate degree in Business, Marketing or related business field.

Nice To Haves

  • Management consulting or investment banking experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with open-end funds is helpful but not required.
  • Knowledge of transportation sector is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage models and analytics to enhance investor engagement.
  • Utilize quantitative and qualitative analysis to provide insights that optimize investor communications and strategy.
  • Employ critical thinking and innovative approaches to address complex challenges in positioning the strategy among alternatives and other asset management products.
  • Work closely with the investment team and asset management to evaluate and optimize the communications for investors.
  • In partnership with Finance Team, deploy and manage the processes for timely production of recurring deliverables including Fund snapshots, quarterly reports and cover notes.
  • Create, update and maintain all marketing collateral including pitch book, product profiles, stage presentations, teasers, and ad hoc materials, etc.
  • Regularly drive the creation of new content for investor communications.
  • Support written and verbal fund and market updates to prospects and clients; Direct client and interpersonal skills required.
  • Extensive marketing support, including data room analysis, fund investor portal upkeep, compliance and internal systems reviews.
  • Ability to synthesize and leverage large data sets in Excel to create custom analysis.
  • Lead the development and liaise with internal RFP team and investment team in the production and completion of requests for proposal (RFPs), requests for information (RFIs), due diligence questionnaires (DDQ), quarterly/monthly client/consultant questionnaires and ad hoc requests.
  • Own and maintain prospect tracking database.
  • Assist on-going prospecting initiatives by staying on top of news feeds for potential search/RFP activities that can lead to new mandates.
  • Support fund level reporting efforts for all investors of the Global Transportation Group platform including quarterly performance snapshots, quarterly/annual reports as well as webcast coordination etc.
  • Work with internal constituent groups as well as consultants and clients to answer questions and address issues. Ensure timely, accurate and quality delivery of responses.
  • Work with the group’s finance team to complete fund-level and client/consultant specific analysis, i.e., quarterly reporting, ad hoc cash flow analysis, ad hoc cost basis analysis, IRR analysis, investment experience attribution, etc.
  • Provide analytical support to portfolio managers and support internal marketing efforts to JPMAM global sales force - providing client relations and sales support
  • Identify and work on efficiency initiatives to help team continue to improve productivity
