About The Position

The Asset Integrity Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and compliant operation Certarus’ 20+ gas compression/decompression facilities and mobile fleet of compressors and PRS’s across the US and Canada. This role focuses on the integrity management of pressure vessels, hoses, process piping (above and below ground), pipelines, and structural equipment. The position holds normal business hours, with 25-30% travel expected within the US and Canada. We support a hybrid work environment consisting of flexible remote and in-person collaboration at our corporate offices and field locations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years in an asset integrity role in oil & gas, energy, or industrial sectors.
  • Strong understanding of pressure vessel design, inspection, and maintenance (ASME Section VIII) API 510).
  • Knowledge of process piping and pipeline systems and standards (ASME B31.3, B31.8, CSA Z662, API 570).
  • Proven experience with integrity data management systems (IDMS), with a strong understanding of inspection data and lifecycle management.
  • Working knowledge of corrosion mechanisms and mitigation strategies.
  • Proficiency in risk-based inspection (RBI) methodologies and engineering assessments.
  • Excellent organizational & communication skills.
  • Demonstrable success in fast paced cultures.
  • A self-starter with relentless habits in line with Certarus’ core values.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability and willingness to travel across North America.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing integrity programs across multiple facilities/regions is highly desirable.
  • API certifications (e.g., API 510, API 570, API 653) are highly desirable.
  • HAZOP and risk assessment training considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with engaging with regulatory bodies such as ABSA, TSSA, TC, and US DOT/PHMSA.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement asset integrity management programs for pressure equipment, piping and pipeline infrastructure for Certarus in the US and Canada.
  • Manage integrity assessments and inspection plans (visual, NDT, corrosion eval, structural integrity) on facility infrastructure, pressure vessels, process tubing, piping, hoses, and pipelines per local and jurisdictional codes and regulations in Canada and the US (e.g. ABSA, CSA, ASME, DOT/PHMSA).
  • Maintain, digitize and centralize asset integrity documentation and inspection reports across the company. Experience with the implementation and management of Integrity Data Management Systems (IDMS).
  • Oversee fitness-for-service evaluations and repair plans for damaged or degraded assets.
  • Conduct risk-based inspections and assessments to identify degradation mechanisms and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure integrity related activities are addressed proactively.
  • Provide technical support from an Asset Integrity standpoint during facility upgrades, retrofits, expansions, and new builds.
  • Participate in the documentation collection, submittal and attendance of regulatory audits.
