About The Position

Join PPG's Aerospace business as an Asset Care & Reliability Manager to lead the development and operation of asset management processes and maintenance systems at our new Specialty Chemical plant in Shelby, NC. This role is critical in establishing and sustaining an ISO 55000 asset management framework that ensures reliability and performance of plant assets. You will drive continuous improvement initiatives, lead root cause analysis efforts, and foster a high-performance maintenance team. This is an onsite role and you will report to the Plant Manager.

Requirements

  • Only U.S. Citizens, Green Card holders, and political asylees or refugees are eligible to apply.
  • Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline such as Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years in maintenance, facilities, or asset management roles, preferably within the chemical or process industries.
  • 2+ years in a management or supervisory role.
  • Experience with OSHA PSM MI regulations, API and ASME industrial standards and Non-Destructive Technologies (NDT) applicable to fixed and rotating equipment
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Expertise in root cause analysis methodologies and corrective action management.
  • Leadership skills with experience driving teams to achieve measurable results.
  • Identify, mentor, and develop team members.
  • Knowledge of construction procedures, building codes, and safety compliance is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an ISO 55000 compliant asset management system aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.
  • Manage the asset care and reliability team, providing direction, coaching, and development.
  • Supervise and ensure the safety of Maintenance staff.
  • Guide the root cause analysis and corrective action process for critical equipment and system failures, ensuring resolution and sustainability of improvements.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and safety teams to ensure maintenance strategies support plant reliability, safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Oversee maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution to maximize asset availability and minimize downtime.
  • Ensuring maintenance resources provide an effective, efficient, and cost-effective execution of maintenance schedules across the site.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to asset reliability,maintenance effectiveness, and compliance.
  • Identify and develop high-potential talent within the team to support succession planningand continuous capability enhancement.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA PSM Mechanical Integrity (MI) regulations, NC statejurisdictional equipment codes, construction procedures, building codes, and safetyregulations as they relate to asset care and maintenance activities.
  • Support as the source for codes and standards to meet PPG Recognized and GenerallyAccepted Good Engineering Practices (“RAGAGEP”) PSM MI compliance.
  • Utilize knowledge of DCS control, PLC's, robotic applications and MES systems to support maintenance and reliability initiatives.
  • Manage maintenance budget.
