About The Position

Assessment Clinician Opportunity: PRN Days 7am - 7:30pm PRN Evenings 4pm - 11pm PRN Nights 7pm - 7:30am PRN Weekends All PRN positions must be available one weekend a month. As the only free-standing psychiatric hospital in the Central Kentucky area, we are here to help. Please join our team as we expand our services to meet the needs of our community. The Ridge Behavioral Health System is a 110-bed hospital located in the heart of the Bluegrass, Lexington, KY. The Ridge provides psychiatric and substance use disorder treatment for children, adolescents, and adults. The Ridge offers Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient Programs, Individual Counseling, as well as Medication Management for all ages. We have provided behavioral health services to over 92 Kentucky counties for more than 39 years. The Assessment Clinician provides telephonic, telehealth, and in-person risk assessments, including the history of presenting illness, suicide risks, family dynamics, and supporting psychosocial information. The Assessment Clinician has initial contact with referral sources and potential patients. The Assessment Clinician coordinates the referral and intake process, determines appropriate level of care, facilitates the admission process, and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff. Follows and abides by company policies, procedures, and Corporate Compliance Program, as applicable to role and responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Human Services field, with at least two years crisis experience; Registered Nurse; LCSW/LPCC/LMFT preferred.
  • Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting.
  • Three years’ experience and knowledge in the area of mental health.
  • Human Services related field; Must be eligible for supervision if not independently licensed
  • Current RN License, if applicable.
  • Crisis Intervention, CPR, and Assessing & Managing Suicide Risk (AMSR) required. These trainings will be offered upon hire.
  • Knowledge of the following: hospital admissions functions; crisis intervention and risk assessment; psychiatric diagnoses and symptomology; basic chemical dependency; age specific growth and development.
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • LCSW/LPCC/LMFT preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performing initial clinical assessments to determine level of care.
  • Coordination and disposition of all referral calls to appropriate level of care.
  • Completion of all admission with psychiatrists and nursing staff.
  • Completing pre-certification information and forwarding to appropriate agencies, in conjunction with Business Office and Utilization Review.
