About The Position

The Office of Academic Programs and Planning (APP) is a key component of the division of Academic Affairs. Its mission is to promote student success through partnering with departments and colleges to develop, deliver, and continuously improve academic programs; and to collaborate with the Academic Senate to develop, implement, and review academic policies. APP's responsibilities include facilitating academic planning for new and existing degree programs, managing the accreditation and program review process for all of Cal Poly's academic programs, managing the assessment of student learning, providing administrative oversight for the University's General Education and Instructionally Related Activities programs, implementing systemwide, California State University initiatives, and creating reports to meet all accountability requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Type 45 wpm.
  • Five (5) years of general office support experience or technical experience. (Training at a vocational school or full-time college education may be substituted for two years of the required experience on the basis of one year of college education for 6 months of experience.)

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and clerical support for assessment-related communication, programming, and outreach with faculty, staff, departments, and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate meetings, agendas, presentations, minutes, summaries, review and archiving of materials for APP, the General Education Governance Board (GEGB), the Instructionally-Related Activities Advisory Committee (IRAAC), the Academic Assessment Council (AAC), and other governance or advisory groups.
  • Assist faculty and departments with assessment of student learning, including program learning objectives, Cal Poly's six core competencies, and support for national surveys (NSSE, BCSSE, FSSE).
  • Serve as a campus resource in the review and assessment of curriculum criteria for Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT)/Transfer Model Curricula (TMC), coordinate with college advisors and the CSU Chancellor's Office on related reporting.
