About The Position

Join Our Movement! BCI Burke Company in Fond du Lac, WI has a full-time Assembly position available on 3rd shift in our Ropes department. 3rd shift hours are 7:30 pm to 6:00 am Monday through Thursday nights Overtime hours are worked on Sunday nights What Moves You? Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read tape measure
  • Able to operate all powered tools and hand tools in Assembly area
  • Ability to work on their own, detail oriented, mechanically inclined
  • All employees must be able to read, write and speak simple sentences, instructions, and correspondence.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Basic to Intermediate Math Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Responsibilities

  • Prepares work by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications and part lists; gathers parts, fixtures, tools and materials.
  • Trims the ropes to the appropriate length
  • Sets up machines and equipment
  • Inspects materials
  • Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements
  • Examining connections for correct fit; fastens parts and subassemblies
  • Record and report assembly supply inventory by reporting supply needs
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment
