About The Position

Pelham Road | Greenville, SC First Shift: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM Industry: Industrial Gas Turbine Manufacturing ? Hands-on. High-precision. Zero boredom. We’re looking for an Assembly Technician to join our production team, which builds industrial gas turbine components. If you’ve assembled mechanical systems before — cars, trucks, planes, industrial equipment, or anything similar — you’ll feel right at home. ?? What You’ll Do Assemble complex mechanical components using drawings, parts lists, and procedures Use hand tools like wrenches, torque wrenches, sockets, and more Apply seals, lubricants, and thread sealants during assembly Perform in-process and final testing using air and water flow benches Set up fixtures, tooling, and test equipment Clean and prep parts using compressed air, water, and deburring methods Accurately enter build data and track time/materials in the system Work closely with Engineering and Quality to improve processes and solve problems Translation: you’ll build, test, troubleshoot, and make things better — not just tighten bolts. What We’re Looking For 6 months–3+ years in a manufacturing or mechanical assembly environment Comfortable reading drawings, routers, and work instructions Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail Ability to work independently and take ownership of your work Someone who values quality, safety, and teamwork Gas turbine, aerospace, automotive, heavy equipment, or industrial assembly experience is a big plus — but not required. Requirements

  • 6 months–3+ years in a manufacturing or mechanical assembly environment
  • Comfortable reading drawings, routers, and work instructions
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of your work
  • Someone who values quality, safety, and teamwork
  • Must possess a verifiable high school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Must have at least 6 months to 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with knowledge of building complex assemblies
  • Must have speaking ability; and sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics to enable and adequately perform the job
  • Must be able to sit/stand continuously on a daily basis
  • Must be able to twist, turn, bend, and reach freely without pain or discomfort
  • Must have sufficient dexterity in both hands and arms to perform routine operation of equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Gas turbine, aerospace, automotive, heavy equipment, or industrial assembly experience is a big plus — but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble complex mechanical components using drawings, parts lists, and procedures
  • Use hand tools like wrenches, torque wrenches, sockets, and more
  • Apply seals, lubricants, and thread sealants during assembly
  • Perform in-process and final testing using air and water flow benches
  • Set up fixtures, tooling, and test equipment
  • Clean and prep parts using compressed air, water, and deburring methods
  • Accurately enter build data and track time/materials in the system
  • Work closely with Engineering and Quality to improve processes and solve problems
  • Receive, check, and verify sub-parts needed for work orders and jobs; resolve any discrepancies
  • Assemble all units correctly using parts list, drawings, specifications, and procedures
  • Prepare and clean product using various methods: compressed air, water, deburring, etc.
  • Test assemblies at both in-process and final check points as per documented test procedures
  • Train other technicians in all elements of assembly and test
  • Follow specific written and oral instruction for product preparation
  • Set-up/breakdown all equipment, tooling, fixtures, and tooling for production and prototype parts
  • Proficiently produce simple and complex components to the highest standards
  • Perform, monitor, and teach routine maintenance and calibration of machines and equipment
  • Anticipate, identify, resolve, and/or notify supervisor of maintenance issues
  • Assemble product correctly and be able to recognize and correct mistakes
  • Demonstrate proficiency in flow-bench programming and software
  • Input all build data and accurately voucher time and materials into manufacturing software system
  • Monitor area work volume; confer with supervisor as needed to ensure efficient department flow
  • Review, request, and verify tooling is available and ready well in advance of need
  • Make recommendations for improvements to all processes, procedures, and policies
  • Assist supervisor in ensuring department production, efficiency, and safety goals are met
  • Work with Engineering and Quality to identify process strengths, weaknesses, and alternatives
  • Provide support to Engineering for development of parts and processes
  • Promote, guide, and assist others to meet Quality Policy and ISO standards and customer expectations
  • Perform intricate First Piece Inspections (FPI) within the scope of assembly and test quality guidelines
  • Instruct and mentor department members on part cleanliness, uniformity, and workmanship
  • Receive and understand daily job assignments, priorities, and work instruction
  • Organize, clean, and maintain area tools, and equipment
  • Assure all department work centers and related areas are safely maintained, clean, and organized
  • Performs all work within the scope of abilities under all quality and safety policies and practices
  • Establish and maintain effective, positive, and professional communication with all co-workers
  • Willingly performs other duties as trained and able
