About The Position
Position Overview: Our client is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Assembly Technician to support their special project. This role focuses on the assembly and testing of detector components used in advanced underwater detection systems. This is a 5 month temporary role Working under the direction of PPD and ETD staff, the technician will play a key role in ensuring accurate assembly, safe handling, and quality testing of detector systems.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in system or component assembly
- Proven experience with heavy assembly work
- Familiarity with: Floor jacks, Torque wrenches, Heavy equipment movement
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
- Ability to follow technical instructions and work in a team-oriented environment
Responsibilities
- Perform detector plane assembly, including heavy component integration
- Assist with testing and validation of detector systems
- Safely handle and maneuver heavy equipment during assembly processes
- Utilize tools such as torque wrenches and floor jacks to meet precise specifications
- Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to meet project requirements
- Document and report assembly activities to the Principal Investigator (PI) of the END project
