JOB SUMMARY Peridot a division of TekniPlex Inc, is a medical device manufacturing company in Pleasanton, CA is currently recruiting for an experienced Assembly Technician. Shift: Swing 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM. Pay Range is $18- $22 DOE.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions in English
  • Must be able to perform repetitive job tasks
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must desire working in a team environment
  • Good manual dexterity skills
  • Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods
  • Must be able to work using a microscope for prolonged periods
  • Some exposure to chemicals
  • Must be able to wear cleanroom & safety attire such as smock, hairnet, mask, booties, and safety glasses
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and legibly complete time cards and work orders.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and read blueprints and technical drawings, such as machine, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to effective present information and respond to questions form groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variable in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in manufacturing, preferably medical devices is a plus
  • Experience with assembly of products, preferably medical devices
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and build per print a plus
  • Experience operating machines is a plus
  • Experience using microscopes is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide variety of tasks and processes that are required to build, assemble, inspect, measure, & package products in a controlled and/or standard manufacturing environment using small hand-tools, microscopes, & various machines/equipment.
  • Read and comprehend safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, specifications, simple instructions, short correspondence, company policies and memos.
