Job Summary/Objective:  The Assembly Technician - Processing is responsible for the efficient assembly, testing, and processing of components and products according to established specifications and standards. This role involves performing various manual and automated assembly tasks, troubleshooting issues, ensuring the proper functioning of equipment, and conducting inspections to guarantee quality control. The technician will also be responsible for managing inventory, maintaining workstations, collaborating with engineers and other team members to optimize production workflows, and assemble optical filters and dichroics into a variety of ring mountings.

Requirements

  • Ability to effectively utilize MS Office Google and email
  • Excellent manual dexterity for handling and visually inspecting small parts for assembly
  • Self-starter, detail oriented, independent worker
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent work ethic
  • General computer proficiency
  • Excellent organizational skills with a proven ability to maintain the physical cleanliness of the workspace
  • Ability to work effectively with all individuals/groups within the organization

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual inspection of filters to be mounted, examining for surface quality imperfections, coating defects and/or deterioration
  • Clean parts as necessary in preparation for mounting
  • Label rings, prepare parts and mount assembly
  • Perform part marking per specified requirements
  • Laminate and assemble glass components
  • Requisition and perform incoming inspection of components and supplies to maintain appropriate stock levels
  • Confirm that incoming product and raw material meets specification and accept or reject as appropriate
  • Identify and report quality problems or trends
  • Be organized when helping to solve problems, supporting project teams, or instituting goals
  • Collaborate with colleagues to find most appropriate solutions
