About The Position

This entry level position is for individuals interested in learning electrical and mechanical assembly. This position includes assisting Assembly Technicians with fabrication of electrical and mechanical products according to standard specifications and instructions in a production shop environment.

Requirements

Desire to learn electrical and mechanical skills to grow within the panel shop environment.
Develop knowledge and skills using both hand and power tools. Good manual dexterity is necessary for this position as it can involve working in tight panel spaces or working with small electrical and mechanical components.
Ability to read and understand production blueprints, diagrams, and electrical schematics.
Physical strength with the ability to lift, push & pull up to 60 pounds, and able stand for long periods of time.
Must have strong teamwork and communication skills.
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office applications).
Forklift training may be a part of this position.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Able to speak, write, and read English.
Ability to work overtime as necessary to meet production schedule for client projects.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Entry-level; no prior manufacturing experience required—motivated learners encouraged to apply.
Forklift training (may be part of on-the-job training).

Responsibilities

Comply with all work safety procedures, company policies, and OSHA rules.
Follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to work with different Assembly Technicians while learning the basics of Panel Shop procedures.
Assist Assembly Technicians in building panels for field applications to increase production for stock BLS builds for clients.
Assist in the fabrication of industrial control panels, junction boxes, and solar power skids from established drawings.
Learn the basics of electrical panel assembly including wiring of components, prefabrication of wire for enclosures.
Learn the basics of metal fabrication including layout, cutting, drilling, tapping, and forming enclosures, brackets, and panels.
Learn basic assembly and fabrication of mechanical and pipe assemblies based on standard shop drawings.
Assist in the preparation and packaging of projects for shipment.
Ability to change tasks as needed by the shop foremen and shop leads.
Perform housekeeping duties to keep work areas clean, organized, and help create a hazard free workspace.
Perform other duties as assigned.
