About The Position

The Assembly Lead is a hands-on leadership role responsible for coordinating daily assembly operations, guiding Assembly Technicians, and ensuring production goals, quality standards, and safety expectations are met. This role serves as the primary point of contact on the floor and acts as a bridge between Assembly Technicians and the Assembly Supervisor. The Assembly Lead leads by example, supports real-time problem solving, drives accountability within the team, and actively participates in assembly production while helping maintain consistent workflow and performance.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of assembly processes, product flow, and quality standards.
  • Understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs), work instructions, and basic inventory control.
  • Working knowledge of Odoo or similar ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to think ahead and anticipate production needs.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
  • Ability to lead by example and take ownership of outcomes.
  • Must meet all expectations of Assembly Technician 3.
  • Minimum 2 years of assembly or manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to use hand tools and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Reliable attendance is an essential function of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily assembly activities and prioritize work based on production needs.
  • Balance workload across technicians to maintain steady production flow.
  • Monitor daily output and support meeting department KPIs and production targets.
  • Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, or delays and take corrective action.
  • Actively participate in assembly work as needed to support production goals.
  • Communicate production status, risks, and needs to the Assembly Supervisor.
  • Ensure products meet fit, finish, and quality standards before moving downstream.
  • Uphold standardized work instructions and assembly processes.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, safe work practices, and SilencerCo compliance requirements.
  • Serve as the first point of escalation for quality, safety, or compliance concerns.
  • Support product audits, inspections, and first-pass yield initiatives.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor Assembly Technicians 1–3.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new hires.
  • Reinforce expectations for workmanship, efficiency, and teamwork.
  • Provide regular feedback to technicians and escalate performance concerns to supervision.
  • Model professionalism, accountability, and strong work ethic.
  • Ensure proper material usage and inventory accuracy within the work area.
  • Monitor part availability and communicate shortages or needs proactively.
  • Maintain accurate production and inventory data in the ERP system (Odoo).
  • Maintain clean, organized, and efficient workspaces.
  • Support inventory audits and material flow improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and ergonomics.
  • Support implementation of process improvements and standardized work.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Inventory, Metal Finish, Maintenance, and other departments.
  • Support supervisors and managers in achieving departmental goals.
