The Assembly Lead directs the daily activities of the assembly department in an efficient manner for the desired quality and quantity of work, reporting directly to the Plant Manager. This position supervises all work related to assembly in order to prepare products for shipment.

Requirements

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Strong interpersonal and organizations skills
  • At least 1 year experience as a plant laborer or equivalent
  • Must have forklift and crane operator certification, or be able to attain certification
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Job responsibilities involve occasional use of hand tools and power tools

Nice To Haves

  • Previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Direct production workers with respect to focus on assembly volume, cost, quality and meeting assembly schedules and delivery dates.
  • Confers with the Plant Manager to establish working schedules for the assembly department.
  • Maintains adherence to Company Policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
  • Recommend the hiring and releasing of assembly personnel as required for maintaining schedules.
  • Assures that all machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained for efficient production.
  • Arranges to have appropriate production records prepared and maintained.
  • Assures efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the department.
  • Data collection and reporting
  • In concert with individual supervisors, establishes accountabilities, goals and objectives used for performance evaluation.
