Job Responsibilities: Scope of Position Lead the planning, development, and launch of new assembly lines for upcoming products. This role is critical in ensuring new programs are successfully industrialized with robust, efficient, and cost-effective assembly processes that meet safety, quality, and delivery targets.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in automotive assembly or high-volume manufacturing
  • Experience supporting mechanical assembly processes (geartrain, shafts, housings, torque-critical joints preferred)
  • Working knowledge of APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and standardized work
  • Ability to work on the production floor daily in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work all shifts to support production needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with torque systems, press-fit applications, leak testing, and error-proofing systems preferred
  • Familiarity with line balancing, cycle time analysis, and OEE improvement
  • Strong problem-solving skills (5 Why, Fishbone, root cause analysis)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct daily support to transfer case assembly lines
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, tooling, process, and quality issues in real time
  • Drive immediate containment and long-term corrective actions for assembly defects
  • Monitor and improve OEE, scrap, rework, and downtime metrics
  • Support torque, press, leak test, and end-of-line functional testing systems
  • Identify and implement improvements to cycle time, ergonomics, and process flow
  • Lead line balancing activities to optimize manpower and throughput
  • Improve error-proofing methods (poka-yoke) to reduce defect opportunities
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives through tooling, fixture, and process improvements
  • Maintain and update PFMEA, Control Plans, and standardized work documents
  • Support internal and external audits related to assembly processes
  • Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering teams to resolve issues
  • Support prototype builds, new program integration, and production ramp-up activities
