About The Position

Your overall responsibilities will involve the management of drilling, fastening, jigs & tools and measurement activities to secure the industrialization of technologies and the implementation of robust processes. You will represent the Assembly Technology domain in front of the operational domains (quality, operations, logistics, …), engineering and procurement in a manufacturing plant.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree level in Manufacturing Engineering or similar
  • Knowledge in specifying tools & machinery
  • 8 years of experience in a related role
  • Knowledge in specifying tools & machinery
  • Define a technical specification
  • Run a technical negotiation with supplier
  • Knowledge of relevant rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, engineering and/or assembly processes:
  • Experience in manufacturing or assembly of technical parts
  • Experience in generic assembly processes
  • Experience in machine or jigs & tools qualification
  • English: Fluent (spoken & written)
  • Degree in mechanical engineering or similar
  • able to read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.
  • able to hear sounds on production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
  • able to communicate with colleaguess and in meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
  • able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
  • able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
  • able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on computer.
  • able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
  • able to stand for discussions in offices or on production floor.
  • able to travel independently and at short notice.
  • able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
  • Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site
  • Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visit, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.

  • Knowledge of Quality processes (e.g. PPS)

Responsibilities

  • Specify industrial jigs, tools and machinery for the industrial evolution:
  • Support Production on critical disturbances related to assembly technologies and processes:
  • Development and implementation of new assembly processes and technologies:
  • Be active part of a transnational team participating to regular team meetings and SQCDP meetings
  • Participate in team workshops (once or twice a year)
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager
