The Assembly/Disassembly Technician is a full-time, on-site position based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This role is primarily focused on facilities-related duties, including maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment, supporting equipment setup and breakdown, and ensuring work areas meet safety and operational standards. In addition, the technician is responsible for disassembling, cleaning, inspecting, and tagging aircraft components, while actively identifying opportunities to improve processes, safety, quality, and overall efficiency. Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience removing and restoring aircraft assemblies.
  • Must have a minimum of a high school education or equivalent and 1 to 3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience assembling aircraft/aerospace parts, components, and/or assemblies using applicable drawings, specifications, quality standards, and manufacturing plans.
  • Possess the ability to construct, install, dismantle, relocate, modify, and/or repair OEM equipment of all types.
  • Knowledge of wiring schematics on understanding and reading a manual to install components.

Responsibilities

  • Complex production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment, and accessories using manual operations.
  • Follows approved assembly procedures for component or aircraft structures, consulting internal procedures that have been FAA approved, original equipment manufacturers (OEM’s) technical data, and work package instructions.
  • Utilization of comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components.
  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft structural modification and repair and the ability to determine the functionality of non-complex electrical systems.
  • Operation of unique aircraft tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, sheet metal brakes, sheers, etc.
  • Applies professional technical expertise and guidance to execute complex structures work, including but not limited to pull holes, match & back drilling, fastener removals, riveting, sleeve bolt drilling, and system, wire, and tube installations.
  • Reads and interprets engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements to perform structural modification/repair.
  • Maintain necessary certifications, licenses, and permits as required for assigned work.
