About The Position

Seeking an individual to provide skilled support on the fabrication of semi-rigid and coaxial cable assemblies. Must be able to perform a wide variety of mechanical assembly operations on electro-mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies. This position requires skilled mechanical hand work and/or the use of automated production equipment. The individual must also have experience hand soldering components (wires, terminals, PCB through hole and mount). Must work well with others and is ready to help the team meet customer commitments. Must be able to communicate status and issues to the Assembly Manager in English. Must have basic computer navigation skills to be able to work from detailed electronic work instructions that are provided in English. Willing to work overtime when required.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.

  • Experience manufacturing semi-rigid and semi-flex RF and coaxial cable assemblies
  • J-STD-001 soldering certification
  • Experience in a manufacturing assembly environment
  • Mechanically inclined

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate semi-rigid and semi-flex RF and coaxial cable assemblies (cutting, trimming, bending) IAW WHMA-620
  • Operate various types of manufacturing equipment (cable cutter, cable bender, air drivers/drills, rivet guns, sanders, drill presses, etc.) with proper training
  • Prepare and apply various adhesive materials using a scale
  • Solder wires, terminals, splices, PCB through-hole & PCB surface mount components IAW J-STD-001 & IPC-610
  • Work with small hardware components (screws, rivets, washers, nuts) and hand tools
  • Visually inspect components and subassemblies for obvious defects prior to, during and after assembly
  • Check completed assemblies for conformance with quality standards. Maintain assembly & quality records/paperwork as required.
  • Basic computer navigation skills
  • Read and write in English
  • Communicate status and issues to the Assembly Manager in English
  • Learn and work in a fast-paced, flexible production environment
  • Work overtime as needed
