About The Position

The Assembler is responsible for building and assembling generator set units, enclosures and related components in a shop environment. This role works directly with production, engineering, and operations to assemble quality products safely, efficiently, and on schedule. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, dependable, and comfortable working with tools, drawings, and physical tasks. At Altorfer, our iron is just the beginning. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior experience using hand tools and common shop tools required
  • Mechanically inclined with a willingness to learn new skills
  • Dependable, productive, and able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong communication and basic interpersonal skills
  • Must provide personal hand tools
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and regularly climb ladders and stairs
  • Valid driver’s license required (motor vehicle report required for final candidate)

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read and understand engineering or shop drawings preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assemble generator set packages, enclosures and packaged components using hand tools, shop equipment, and material‑handling devices.
  • Perform basic electrical and mechanical assembly work per drawings and work instructions.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly documentation.
  • Work closely with production supervisors to meet build schedules and quality expectations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all safety requirements.
  • Support general shop and warehouse tasks as needed
