New hires start with 3 weeks’ paid vacation. Health, vision and dental start day one Employee stock discount 401K Match of 5% Job Description: The person hired for the position of Assembler will work at our Lexington, Ky plant site. As an Assembler, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Job Summary : To learn and perform basic electronic and/or mechanical assembly tasks such as mini tubes, extended assemblies, etc. following specific work instructions while under direct supervision. These tasks are completed by utilizing binding materials, potting powder and small hand tools while working under a microscope to assemble the three basic training part types of well-defined nature.

Requirements

  • Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher completed and verified prior to start.
  • Ability to work with small parts under a microscope for extended periods.
  • Applicants who meet the basic qualifications above will be required to take and pass 3M elected testing as a part of the selection process.
  • Please note that candidates must be at least 18 years old to be eligible for employment with 3M.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
  • All US-based 3M full time employees will need to sign an employee agreement as a condition of employment with 3M. This agreement lays out key terms on using 3M Confidential Information and Trade Secrets. It also has provisions discussing conflicts of interest and how inventions are assigned.
  • Employees that are Job Grade 7 or equivalent and above may also have obligations to not compete against 3M or solicit its employees or customers, both during their employment, and for a period after they leave 3M.
  • Responsibilities of this position include that corporate policies, procedures and security standards are complied with while performing assigned duties.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one (1) year of manufacturing, production, or assembly experience
  • Experience using microscopes in a production or inspection environment.
  • Experience with precision measuring tools such as calipers or micrometers
  • Experience assembling small or high-precision components.
  • Familiarity with reading blueprints or working in controlled/cleanroom environments.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions, including method sheets and blueprints.
  • Basic math skills, including four-function math and working with decimals.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify acceptable vs. non-conforming product.

Responsibilities

  • Complete required training and work closely with experienced operators to develop job proficiency.
  • Read, interpret, and follow method sheets, blueprints, and standard work instructions.
  • Perform assembly operations with minimal supervision while meeting quality and productivity standards.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections to ensure products meet specifications and proper component fit.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with plant standards.
  • Follow all safety policies, wear required PPE, participate in training, and perform other duties as assigned.
