THE WORK Lockheed Martin Oldsmar is looking for a highly experienced Solder Assembler with deep expertise in both surface mount technology (SMT) and through hole soldering. The ideal candidate will be proficient in reworking and repairing a wide range of components. (SMT, PTH, Bottom-terminated) This role supports high mix, low volume production of critical aerospace and defense electronics, requiring meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality. Ability to work from diagrams and drawings, make initial layouts, and use hand and/or power tools. May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications. May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test production or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications. Expected to read and comprehend assembly parts lists, assembly drawings and any related reference documentation. Builds in accordance with IPC-610 (and other) quality standards. Troubleshooting of process parameters to improve yield. The SMT Operator will work with AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) equipment and identify solder defects on CCAs (circuit card assemblies). Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of working with SMT/PTH touch up after solder re-flow
  • Ability to identify solder defects with the use of microscope and other equipment such as AOI (Automated Optical Inspection)
  • Experience with wire harness assembly/routing with soldering wires to PWBs

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Fine Pitch SMT Component soldering
  • Experience with Hot air pencil solder reflow for QFN or other small bottom terminated components
  • Strong understanding of IPC‑610, and IPC‑J‑STD‑001 standards.
