About The Position

This is a working position that coordinates and performs assembly activities.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to read blueprints and have basic knowledge/understanding of GD&T, including identifying and measuring surface finishes
  • Must be flexible in work hours in accordance with project schedules
  • Understands fully and complies with company and safety policies
  • Ability to use all necessary hand tools, grinders, drills, saws, etc.
  • Self-Motivated
  • Ability to work in team environment building custom equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • MUST BE A US CITIZEN - In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. Nice To Haves

  • Prior training in Lean Manufacturing and work experience in a Lean environment is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Use hand tools, power tools and equipment to complete assembly activities. Assembly activities include but are not limited to – identifying parts/hardware against a parts list or bill of materials, anchoring, installing windows, flanges, valves, piping, compression fittings, motors, pumps, shooting weld studs, etc.
  • Modify parts using grinders, porta-powers, etc. to meet drawing and specification requirements.
  • Occasionally helping with electrical assembly activities including installing conduit, power panels, pulling wire, etc.
  • Perform cleaning and passivation of parts and assemblies.
  • Interpret drawings, specifications, schematics and P&ID’s.
  • Safely use ladders, scaffolding, forklifts and hoists to complete work.
  • When needed perform work in other departments such as material processing, polishing, etc.
  • Actively support a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Look ahead to verify/obtain all materials, equipment and consumables prior to the start of a job.
  • Review all jobs, including the shop traveler and all referenced documents prior to the assignment of the task and communicate needs.
  • Package and prepare parts for shipment. Assist in building crates.
  • Recommend and evaluate new equipment, tooling, and methods to improve efficiency, safety, and quality.
  • Willingness to standardize processes where applicable and train others
