Position Summary: The Assembler II in the Fit & Finish Department is responsible for performing intermediate-level assembly and installation tasks to complete interior and exterior vehicle finish work. This includes cabinetry, trim, hardware, countertop installation and repair, and custom vehicle components. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to follow work instructions with limited supervision.

Requirements

  • Must know how to read tape measure
  • Ability to commit to flexible schedule and prompt arrival for shifts
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of prior assembly experience in manufacturing or automotive setting preferred.
  • Proficient with hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic technical documents and instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform intermediate to advanced assembly operations for interior and exterior vehicle components, including cabinetry, moldings, doors, panels, hardware, and countertops.
  • Conduct countertop inspections, repairs, and finish work including filling, sanding, buffing, and polishing solid surface materials (e.g., Corian).
  • Fit, align, and secure components to meet product specifications and finish standards.
  • Use hand and power tools, adhesives, and fastening systems to complete assigned tasks.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders.
  • Inspect and verify components and installations for quality and accuracy.
  • Identify and communicate material needs or product issues to supervisors or leads.
  • Ensure work area is clean, organized, and safe in accordance with company policies.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to meet production schedules.
  • Must be able to participate in LEAN and continuous improvement activities.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
