About The Position

The Global Operations Group brings information systems, facilities, supply chain, logistics, and high-volume manufacturing together to drive the engine of our global business operations. We help Lam deliver industry-leading solutions with speed and efficiency, while actively supporting the resilient and profitable growth of Lam's business. At Lam, as an Assembler, you play a vital role in electronic, electron-mechanical, and mechanical product assembly on wafer fabrication equipment (WFE) in a lean manufacturing clean-room environment. You’ll use your insights, computer-based instructions, hand tools and fixtures to install parts and hardware. Your expertise ensures precise setup and adjustments, holding tolerances to specifications, and contributes to the quality of Lam's products. You may also serve as primary trainer for other assemblers on specific job functions.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of mechanical or related assembly experience.
  • Associates Degree, Technical Certificate, or Diploma in Engineering or related field.
  • Effective communication skills, written and verbal, in English.
  • Able to work 12-hour shifts in fast paced and time-sensitive environment.
  • Proficiency in computer-based data systems, applications, and Microsoft Office software.
  • Frequently position oneself (e.g., bend, stoop, reach, walk, sit, twist, squat, kneel, climb, stand) to perform job tasks including: moving parts and equipment weighing up to 35 pounds; operating various hand tools, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Distinguish various wires by color, size, thickness, markings, etc.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment or in semiconductor capital equipment industry .

Responsibilities

  • Effectively use instructions and schematics, hand tools, equipment, and fixtures to assemble and install parts/hardware for WFE.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to changing priorities, including rework requirements to maintain workflow and production schedules.
  • Ensure correct part delivery and perform visual inspection of components before installation.
  • Contribute to audits by conducting visual inspections, verifying checklists, and performing leak checks as needed.
  • Cross-train in multiple work centers (e.g., Final Assembly, Sub Assembly, Feeder Bay, Preship, NPI).
  • Train other assemblers on specific job functions and role modeling continuous improvement behaviors.
  • Identify and document Non-Conformance Items (NCIs), escalating to engineering as needed.
  • Support a safe work environment by following safe work practices, adhering to safety guidelines, utilizing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and following Lockout Tagout (LOTO) policies and procedures.
  • Provide timely clear communication to stakeholders including production status, tasks completed, signoffs, detailed descriptions, continuous improvement ideas, and shift pass downs.
