About The Position

Employee will be responsible for novice operation of the screed on the asphalt paver. This position requires learning proper adjustments for thickness, crown, and slope while working closely with the paver operator. Employee will be safety-focused and work well in a team environment.

Requirements

• Novice screed experience (in training)
• Willingness to learn asphalt paving operations
• Basic mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Reliable Transportation
• Safety awareness
• 40-65 hours/week availability

Responsibilities

• Adjusts screed for basic thickness, crown, and slope under guidance of experienced operators
• Works closely with Paver Operator and laborers to maintain consistent mat quality
• Monitors the freshly laid asphalt for defects during placement
• Performs daily screed pre-heat procedures and basic maintenance
• Participates in daily safety meetings and follows all safety protocols
• Assists with general paving tasks as needed
• Reports any issues or irregularities to the foreman promptly
• Helps maintain clean work area around the paver
