About The Position

Employee will be responsible for novice operation of the screed on the asphalt paver. This position requires learning proper adjustments for thickness, crown, and slope while working closely with the paver operator. Employee will be safety-focused and work well in a team environment.

Requirements

• Proficient screed operation experience
• 2+ years asphalt paving experience
• Strong knowledge of grade control and asphalt finishing standards
• Reliable transportation
• Safety awareness
• 40-65 hours/week availability

Responsibilities

• Independently adjusts the screed for precise thickness, crown, slope, and mat smoothness
• Coordinates with the Paver Operator in real-time for optimal results
• Monitors temperature, material flow, and surface quality continuously
• Performs daily screed maintenance and pre-heat procedures
• Trains novice screed operators
• Ensures the finished mat meets project specifications and quality standards
• Participates in daily safety meetings
• Reports production or quality issues to the foreman
