About The Position
The Asphalt Raker plays a key role in road construction and paving operations. This position is responsible for spreading, leveling, and smoothing hot asphalt to ensure a safe, durable, and high-quality finished surface.
Responsibilities
- Spread, rake, and level hot asphalt to proper grade and thickness
- Assist with asphalt paving operations alongside paving crews and equipment operators
- Check for proper depth, grade, and drainage to meet project specifications
- Smooth and shape asphalt using hand tools to ensure a uniform finish
- Work around heavy equipment including pavers, rollers, and trucks safely
- Follow directions from foreman/supervisor to meet daily production goals
- Perform general labor duties such as shoveling, sweeping, and site cleanup
- Identify and correct surface imperfections during paving process
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations
