About The Position

Rogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 13 states with over 3,500 employees. RGI, established in 1908, has the distinction of being recognized as the largest privately held aggregate producer in the United States. Rogers Group is currently seeking an Asphalt Plant Superintendent for our Hopkinsville, KY area to manage all aspects of four asphalt plants. The successful candidate will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.

Requirements

  • 5+ years managing batch or drum asphalt plants, including P&L.
  • 1+ year of experience in customer service.
  • Proficient in Minds or similar asphalt plant operating software.
  • Capable of demonstrating equipment and troubleshooting knowledge. PLC knowledge strongly desired.
  • Proven track record of production efficiency and cost reduction through improved mix designs.
  • Working knowledge of the cost and profitability drivers of an asphalt plant operation.
  • Working knowledge of health and safety and environmental regulations and policies.
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills required.
  • Good organizational, scheduling and time management skills.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Able to work overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring compliance with company and government health and safety and environmental regulations and policies.
  • Operating and monitoring multiple batch or drum asphalt plants.
  • Evaluating existing operations for improvement opportunities in planning, processing, equipment utilization, cost reduction, etc.
  • Ensuring facilities have resources and support to achieve production objectives.
  • Performing preventative maintenance and repairs as well as troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Assisting QC and ensuring mix designs meet customer specifications.
  • Distributing material in a timely manner to internal and external customers.
  • Maintaining favorable and effective communication with customers both internal and external.
  • Favorably resolving customer complaints in accordance with company policy and industry best practices.
  • Ordering materials and AC to produce mix.
  • Compiling and interpreting reports on plant equipment, maintenance and production.
  • Assist Area Manager with planning, budgeting, and P&L.
  • Will supervise other employees.
  • This position involves communications with both internal and external customers such as subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and senior management.
