Asphalt Paving Project Manager – Heavy Civil Construction
About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead asphalt paving and heavy civil construction projects in Pendleton, Indiana. This full-time onsite position is responsible for managing projects from initial planning and mobilization through final completion while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and within budget. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in asphalt paving operations, roadway construction, parking lot paving, or site development. In this role, you will coordinate field crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and trucking logistics while maintaining strong communication with clients and internal leadership. This position offers the opportunity to manage impactful infrastructure and paving projects while supporting operational success across projects in the Pendleton area.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing asphalt paving, heavy civil construction, or site development projects
- Strong knowledge of paving operations, grading, drainage, and production planning
- Experience managing budgets, change orders, and project financial performance
- Ability to coordinate and oversee multiple active construction projects simultaneously
- Strong leadership and communication skills when working with crews, subcontractors, and clients
- Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work full-time onsite in Pendleton, IN
- Valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
- Manage asphalt paving, milling, sealcoating, and sitework projects from contract award through project completion
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost tracking reports
- Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and trucking logistics for paving operations
- Monitor labor hours, equipment usage, and material quantities to maintain project profitability
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and grading requirements
- Maintain safety compliance and quality control standards across job sites
- Manage change orders, RFIs, and project documentation
- Communicate project progress, schedules, and expectations with clients and stakeholders
- Identify potential production or scheduling challenges and implement solutions proactively
