About The Position

The Asphalt Laborer is responsible for preparing the job site, setting up equipment, and performing manual labor such as digging, raking and sweeping. assists in the pouring, smoothing and setting of asphalt on roads, pathways and parking lots. The main task of the asphalt laborer is to look after the mat; this includes raking, sweeping, and lining of the road. Will also work alongside the tractor, miller, paver and screed.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Pass pre-employment screen and criminal background check
  • Previous work experience in construction or related as an asphalt laborer or flagger.
  • Knowledge of road and traffic regulations
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining asphalt production equipment, including paving machines, hot boxes, and plant equipment
  • Sweep and clean the area in front of the paver
  • Guide the tractor and assist the screed operator
  • Work as a flagger to direct motorist away from the work zone
  • May perform general Asphalt labor duties
