About The Position

The ASL Lab instructor will oversee students in labs associated with ASL courses. The ASL Lab instructor will collaborate with the course instructor-of-record to plan and execute practical activities for students during these labs. Lab activities are meant to support students at various levels as they develop proficiency in ASL.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in special education or closely related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of work experience as a special educator or in a related field working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate proficiency in American Sign Language.
  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position, as mandated by state law.
  • Applicants for this position must be authorized to work in the U.S. without ISU sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience instructing at the college level.
  • Experience with learning management systems (i.e. Canvas)
