About The Position

As a Programming and Artist Relations Intern with Opry Entertainment Group (OEG), you'll engage in experiential learning by providing project-based and administrative support to the Artist Relations and Programming department. You'll provide hands-on support to artist research, show planning, internal coordination, and live event support. As the ideal candidate, you bring strong organizational skills and genuine passion for music and artist relations with eagerness to support the programming that brings talent to our iconic venues. Our 12-week paid internship program offers current students hands-on experience in corporate and operations functions across our Nashville market. The program begins Monday, May 18th and will conclude Friday, August 7th. Interns will work up to 40 hours per week in office or venue settings. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program studying Music Business, Business, Communications, or related field
  • 1+ years’ completed coursework in Music Business, Business, Communications, or related field
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Passion for country music and the entertainment industry
  • Able to work both independently and as a part of a team
  • Positive, proactive, and eager to learn, with the ability to think on your feet and handle new challenges
  • Able to manage multiple workstreams while meeting critical deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays to experience full-cycle business operations
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an expectation of this job.
  • Must be a current student with reliable transportation and eligibility to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Research artists and compile background information for upcoming shows, events, and programming ideas.
  • Develop and maintain internal deliverables such as prep sheets, bio cards, pitch decks, and materials for weekly music meeting and presentations.
  • Support artist relations operations by coordinating artist gifts, credentials, backstage lists, post-show materials, and post-show materials.
  • Help keep department spreadsheets, calendars, schedules, and contact lists organized and up to date.
  • Provide general administrative support, including tracking music releases, local concerts, and industry events, and assisting with internal communications.
  • Support live shows and special events by working one show per week, helping backstage as needed, attending meetings to learn, and assisting with additional projects as assigned.
  • Attend weekly departmental meetings and label calls.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
