About The Position

Assist the Master Carver/Carvers Leadership in the day-to-day operations of the Carvers duties. The Part-time student helps in the guest engagement and image production of all assignments as directed by the Carvers Leadership. Position Scope: Attends daily co-ordination meetings for the department and assist department Leadership in other meetings throughout the company as needed. Helps plan and implement the departments standard of Performance. Performs other duties assigned by the Management.

Requirements

• Communicate with associates in a way that motivates and also commands respect.
• Communicate well and think clearly and objectively under all circumstances.
• Working knowledge about the Polynesian Cultural Center and understand the Hawaii Tourism industry.
• Able to carve the basic designs forms.
• Able to lift 35 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Have a full range of body movements while working with an assortment of power tools and materials.
• Able to work with tools used for carving and carpentry work; both hand and power.
• Must follow the University's Dress and Grooming Standards.
• Must exemplify the university Honor Code, including the Dress and Grooming Principles and Expectations

Nice To Haves

• Preferably able to work during breaks.
