About The Position

As the Art Teacher, you will be responsible for developing each student's interest in and the ability for creative expression in visual terms, using skills and techniques of artistic expression consistent with school guidelines. You will also: Have an aesthetic understanding and appreciation for the arts Able to design, facilitate and teach art Create and implement lesson plans, assign tasks, and evaluate student work and progress according to school's guidelines Supervise students safety and promote a safe, effective, and ethical learning environment Use professional discretion and judgment in managing students in a classroom setting Effective oral and written communication skills Maintain professional demeanor and ethics at all times Other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Use office equipment and materials properly and in a safe manner.
  • Perform basic math skills and functions.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Read a variety of manuals and documents.
  • Writes in a coherent and professional manner.
  • Present information to others.
  • Knowledge of office management procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bachelor's degree in Art Education or related field.
  • Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Valid CPR and First Aid Certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree in Art education or related field, or higher.
  • Arizona Teaching Certificate, or Reciprocal Out-Of-State Certificate.
  • 1 year of art teaching experience.
