About The Position

We are seeking a creative and passionate Art Teacher to inspire and engage students with behavioral and learning disabilities. In this role, you will deliver a state-approved, county-supported art curriculum for high school, middle school, and certificate of completion classes. Your work will foster creativity, self-expression, and confidence in every student. What You'll Do Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with the approved curriculum. Design art activities and projects that reflect the diverse needs and abilities of students. Collaborate with clinical staff to provide art-based therapeutic activities when requested. Maintain and organize art supplies to ensure a well-equipped classroom. Support a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Perform additional duties as needed to enhance the school environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Art Education or related field.
  • Eligible for or holds MSDE (Maryland State Department of Education) certification in Art Education.
  • Previous experience teaching art, preferably in a special education setting.
  • Ability to adapt lessons for students with behavioral and learning challenges.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Creativity and enthusiasm for fostering artistic expression.
