About The Position
A successful candidate will be strong in the skill of differentiation and student-centered instruction, as well as collaborating with a team. The Expedition School offers an exceptional project based learning approach with a STEM focused environment that seeks to develop high level analytical and critical thinking skills in all of its students. This focus is fully integrated within the core academic disciplines of mathematics, science, social sciences, language arts, and technology. TES operates on a modified year-round schedule. This engaging and rigorous approach to educating students is implemented by a collaborative team of teachers at each grade level. TES operates on a modified year-round schedule. A highly qualified candidate will: Have a Bachelor’s/Master's degree in Education Licensed in Art K-12 Be proficient in the NC essentials related to Art Able to manage to organize multiple art materials Quick on your feet - able to manage multiple art projects at once. Able to plan meaningful art experiences connected to art standards Able to clean up store, organize, and display student art projects efficiently Able to teach art concepts through art projects Able to work with students ages 5 to 14, adapting practice to adjust to develop mental levels. Hold high expectations for all students. Have a Growth Mindset Be proficient with ways to assist special needs students, including students on the spectrum Be a learner, flexible and willing to grow Work to achieve school philosophy and policies Be able and willing to collaborate with other staff Utilize effective classroom management techniques Communicate regularly and effectively with others
Requirements
- Be strong in the skill of differentiation and student-centered instruction

- Have a Bachelor’s/Master's degree in Education
- Licensed in Art K-12
