About The Position

This position is for a 0.5 Art Teacher at Taylor Elementary School. The role requires the teacher to be eligible for Virginia licensure with an endorsement in Theater. Responsibilities include working with a diverse student population, communicating effectively with staff, parents, and community members, preparing theater students for performance opportunities, and collaborating with the fine arts team. The teacher is expected to be flexible, dependable, highly organized, and stay current with arts-related technology and best practices in maintaining theater spaces.

Requirements

• Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure
• Must be endorsed in Theater
• Experience working with diverse student population
• Successful teaching experience and curricular knowledge
• Experience implementing best practices in Theater Instruction
• Flexible, dependable, and highly organized
• Must be organized with excellent written and oral communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area
• Knowledge in technical theater helpful
