About The Position

The Staff Pad is partnering with a respected organization to hire an experienced Art Handler II (Driver). This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in hands-on work, has a strong attention to detail, and understands the importance of safely handling high-value artwork and artifacts. You’ll play a key role in transporting, installing, and preserving artwork—helping ensure every piece is handled with precision and care.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
2+ years of experience in: Art handling, museum, or gallery environments OR relevant experience in moving/handling high-value or fragile items
Experience with safe packing, handling, and transportation techniques
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Detail-oriented with strong documentation and reporting accuracy
Physically capable of safely handling and moving artwork
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to problem-solve and adapt in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
Appreciation for fine art and proper handling techniques

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Art History, or a related field
Knowledge of art conservation techniques and materials
Experience working with a variety of art forms and mediums

Responsibilities

Safely pack, transport, and unpack artwork and artifacts
Complete local and regional deliveries (including driving responsibilities)
Assist with installation and deinstallation of exhibitions
Prepare and maintain accurate condition reports and inventory records
Collaborate with curators and team members to ensure proper display and handling
Conduct routine checks of storage and display areas to maintain optimal conditions
Follow best practices for art handling, storage, and transportation
