About The Position

As the Art Director at OBI, you’ll lead the visual direction for assigned campaigns and projects across digital, social, web, and traditional channels. You’ll translate strategy into compelling visual concepts, inspiring a team of designers and creatives to push boundaries and ensure that our work not only meets but exceeds client expectations. In this role, you will also mentor and guide designers on project-based work, offering direction and constructive feedback that supports their growth.

Requirements

  • 5-8+ years of design experience in an agency or fast-paced creative environment
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating concept-driven work across multiple media including digital, print, and video
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma (required) with experience building layouts, components, and design systems
  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) required
  • Ability to think conceptually and execute with precision
  • Adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines, and delivering high-quality work on time
  • Experience presenting to clients and incorporating feedback effectively
  • Strong collaboration skills and a professional, accountable approach to teamwork
  • Portfolio required

Responsibilities

  • Creative Vision Leadership: Develop and direct visual identity and design strategies for projects and campaigns. You’ll set the creative standard, ensuring work is strategically aligned and thoughtfully executed from idea through launch. Your curiosity will drive the exploration of new creative ideas and trends.
  • Conceptual Design: Transform creative briefs into compelling, high-impact visual stories. From concept to execution, you’ll ensure that all creative output meets the highest standard of quality and aligns with the project’s goals.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Partner with client services, strategy, engagement and media teams to develop creative solutions that support campaign goals and business objectives. Contribute actively to creative reviews. Your collaboration will help bridge the gap between creative and execution, ensuring cohesive results.
  • Mentorship & Team Leadership: Provide direction, feedback, an inspiration to a team of designers, helping strengthen conceptual thinking and execution while partnering with the Associate Creative Director to ensure alignment with overall creative direction. Your responsibility will shine in fostering a positive, creative environment where the team can grow and succeed.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Constantly push the boundaries of design by incorporating the latest trends, techniques, and technologies. You’ll lead with innovation, ensuring our work stays fresh, relevant, and ahead of the curve.
  • Project Oversight & Problem Solving: Manage multiple projects at once, maintaining momentum, meeting deadlines, and proactively resolving creative challenges. Your tenacity will ensure deadlines are hit, and any obstacles are overcome with creativity and composure.
  • Client Presentation & Communication: Present creative concepts clearly and confidently to internal teams and clients, articulating how design decisions connect to strategy You’ll present ideas, gather feedback, and ensure clients are inspired and aligned with your creative direction.
