About The Position

The Art Director shapes how Highspring shows up across campaigns, content, and enterprise initiatives by translating business priorities into clear, scalable creative solutions. This is a contract role working 40 hours/week. This is a hands-on role for a strong designer who leads and develops work from concept through delivery, makes sound creative decisions, and collaborates effectively across teams and stakeholders. The Art Director also contributes to team culture through partnership, mentorship, and a shared commitment to quality. Success in this role requires adaptability, strong judgment, clear communication, and a high-level of ownership and follow-through.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Art, Design, or related field required
  • At least 5-7 years’ experience in graphic design, and art direction with a strong portfolio demonstrating creative leadership and execution across all media required
  • Experience managing multiple projects in fast-moving, enterprise environments
  • Strong understanding of brand systems, visual storytelling across platforms (web, social, presentations, video)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to all levels of partners to clearly articulate creative strategy, concepts, and best practices while understanding the balance of business requirements and goals required
  • High level of proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Power Point and project management and platforms (e.g., Monday.com)

Responsibilities

  • Operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment by assessing situations quickly, applying sound judgment, communicating clearly, and driving decisions and action forward
  • Develop strong campaign concepts and creative across communications, presentations, and digital content (social media, video, advertising, email, events, sales collateral) in partnership with marketing, cross functional, and service teams.
  • Partner closely with VP of Brand + Creative to refine and evolve the brand across channels and service lines, translating complex offerings into clear, compelling visual solutions
  • Collaborate across the enterprise to understand business goals, define creative direction, and deliver work that builds trust and drives results
  • Mentor and collaborate with in-house designers, ensuring work aligns to brand guidelines, quality standards, and business objectives
  • Review, refine, and prioritize design work, balancing creative quality with speed and efficiency
  • Build and maintain scalable processes, templates, with industry and AI tools that improve efficiency and reduce friction
  • Continuously iterate upon and improve the brand to evolve brand/creative strategy. Serving as brand ambassador leading by example ensuring brand guidelines are consistently applied and by educating and empowering others to uphold standards
